On September 9, the 2020 Social Responsibility Report of Guangdong Property Developers was released in Guangzhou. This is the 11th consecutive year that the Guangdong Real Estate Industry Association has released the Social Responsibility Report to showcase the achievements of property developers in their efforts to fulfill social responsibility, highlight the responsibility and commitment of property developers and establish a good image for the industry. As a representative of outstanding property developer, Helenbergh was included in the 2020 Social Responsibility Report of Guangdong Property Developers as an excellent case, systematically demonstrating the practice and achievements of Helenbergh in actively fulfilling its social responsibility.

01 Take the responsibility and fight against the pandemic

Since 2020, the COVID-19 has posed a major challenge to the global economy and public safety. Guangdong property developers have taken the initiative to play a role in the fight against the pandemic, courageously carried the heavy responsibility, enthusiastically helped those in distress and aid those in peril, actively stabilized employment, and made important contributions to social stability and economic development.

At the time of the outbreak of the COVID-19, Helenbergh quickly carried out a series of assistance actions. In the first instance, it donated 5 million RMB to Wuhan Charity Federation and procured medical supplies worth 470,000 RMB from overseas to aid Wuhan. After that, we set up volunteer teams nationwide and sent nearly 2 million RMB worth of money, medical supplies and household goods to the front-line workers in 22 cities to fight against the pandemic outbreak.

In the current round of pandemic in Guangdong and Nanjing in May and July this year, Helenbergh continued to participate in the fight against the pandemic with practical actions. It offered timely help, shouldered responsibilities and rushed to the front line of community prevention and control. Together with medical staff, community workers, volunteers and enthusiastic owners, it built a firm community barrier against the pandemic. For example, the electronic screens in the community and its shopping malls were used to actively promote the knowledge and importance of pandemic prevention, and communities in Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Zhaoqing and Huizhou were assisted in nucleic acid testing in all aspects. At the same time, Helenbergh also urgently procured relevant materials and sent them to communities in shortage of pandemic prevention materials to ensure the normal life of community residents during the pandemic.

02 Fruitful charity results

Since its establishment in 1998, Helenbergh has always been committed to its original intention to vigorously carry out social philanthropy and fulfill its corporate social responsibility. With the purpose of “promoting education, helping people in poverty, helping elder people and people with disability and providing disaster relief”, in addition to the nationwide “Helenbergh Kindness”, which focus on the COVID-19, Wenchuan earthquake, Qinghai Yushu earthquake, Southeast Asia tsunami and other major natural disasters, Helenbergh also carried out Helenbergh Education, Helenbergh Shelter, Helenbergh Action and other charitable projects. The total amount of donations for social welfare undertakings exceeded 200 million RMB.

“Helenbergh Education” focuses on education and helps poor students from elementary school to university through multiple initiatives in an all-around way. By the end of 2020, Helenbergh has sponsored more than 200 schools, a total of more than 4,000 students with outstanding academic performance. Now we are sponsoring more than 3,000 students at the same time, with an annual funding of 20 million RMB.

Helenbergh Shelter focuses on rural revitalization. In the old revolutionary area of Jinggangshan, Helenbergh has been vigorously developing and expanding the local honey industry to achieve leapfrog development of the honey industry; on the other hand, it has also paid attention to the development of local education. For example, in Jinggangshan Dong Shang School, in addition to donating art and calligraphy classroom equipment to the school, we also set up the Helenbergh -Dong Shang Education Love Fund for the school to support poor students with good grades. Up to now, Helenbergh has sponsored more than 100 poor students in Jinggangshan City, helping them realize their dream of pursuing education.

In Guangdong, on the 2021 “Guangdong Poverty Relief Day” on June 30 this year, after donating 30 million RMB last year, Helenbergh donated another 20 million RMB this year, contributing to consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty eradication and promoting rural revitalization in Guangdong Province with practical actions. With the outstanding contribution to the cause of poverty alleviation and relief in Guangdong in 2020, Helenbergh was awarded the “Hongmian Cup Golden Cup Award of Guangdong Poverty Alleviation and Relief”.
