Pour Passion and Love into Poverty Alleviation

Poverty alleviation through industrial development is a long-term solution to enhance the self-sufficiency in poverty-stricken areas and help people find jobs locally, which is viewed as another pivot by Helenbergh. Helenbergh has helped poor households to stably increase their incomes, lift them out of poverty by developing local characteristic industries and investing education resources, creating strong impetus for local growth.

In June 2018, during the critical period of poverty alleviation and achievement consolidation in Jinggangshan, Jiangxi Province, Helenborg actively responded to the call of the state, took the initiative to help the old revolutionary areas, and signed a partner assistance agreement with Jinggangshan City. Helenbergh helped Jinggangshan to alleviate poverty from three aspects in light of local conditions: industrial development, infrastructure construction, and education assistance.

Apis cerana, a unique and precious bee species, mainly distributes in Jinggangshan City. The local traditional beekeeping used to be small in scale, low-tech, and low in yield and efficiency. To transform traditional industries into competitive ones, Helenbergh has created a new anti-poverty model featuring the development of the whole industry chain by virtue of the cooperation mode of "company, scientific research institute, cooperatives and farmers."

Helensburgh established Jinggangshan Shiyeshan Natural Honey Development Co., Ltd. and hired an expert team from the Jiangxi Beekeeping Research Institute to provide technical services for beekeepers in the township. The Company invested RMB 10 million to build two fully automatic production plants, and established the first naturally ripe honey packaging line in Jiangxi Province. At the same time, efforts are being made to foster the characteristic brand of "Shiyeshan Natural Honey". With the support of leaders at all levels in Jinggangshan City, the rapid developing honey business aimed at poverty alleviation has aroused widespread attention from the society and the media, and the CCTV News Channel and other media also made special reports on this.

In addition to industry-driven development, Helenbergh also proactively makes donations for schools, improves infrastructure and living standards. In Jinggangshan, Helenbergh sponsored more than 100 impoverished students throughout their study process from elementary school to university, and established outstanding teacher scholarships to encourage and help rural teachers. Helenbergh also invested funds and dispatched teams to develop the tap water project there and solve the drinking water shortage for local people.

Helenbergh Kindness

Spread Love with the Original Intention

Helenbergh exploring and practicing on the process of poverty alleviation vividly interprets its original intention of "promoting education, alleviating poverty, helping the elderly and the disabled, and providing disaster relief." In fact, Helenbergh has not abandoned its original aspirations and has done good deeds for more than 20 years, demonstrating the responsibilities of enterprises in the new era.

In terms of disaster relief, Helenbergh always immediately supports and assists the people in the disaster areas with practical actions. During the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake, the 2010 Yushu Earthquake in Qinghai, and the Covid-19 pandemic, Helenbergh actively fulfilled its social responsibilities and took actions to help compatriots in the disaster area to tide over the difficulties and rebuild their homes.

The Covid-19 pandemic suddenly struck at the beginning of this year, Helenberg gave its full support and donated nearly RMB 10 million of funds and materials. It did not only donate RMB 5 million to the Wuhan Charity Federation, but also urgently purchased medical surgical masks, N95 masks, surgical gloves and other badly needed medical and epidemic prevention materials from abroad. Meanwhile, Helenbergh launched the “Spring Action 2020-Tribute to the Guardians” program nationwide. Its branches in 22 cities across the country organized volunteer teams and sent donations, medicinal alcohol, hand sanitizer, masks, meal replacement food and other materials to local frontline medical personnel, people's police, traffic police, and community committees.

Helenbergh Action

Respect, Support and Love the Elderly to Make them Feel Warm

In addition, in order to disseminate the concept of charity and convey the power of love, Helenbergh also encourages employees to participate in the company's charity. For example, they form a team of love ambassadors and regularly visit the elderly in nursing homes to help the elderly solve their daily difficulties and accompany the elderly to spend their old age to let them feel love, warmth and care from the society. This has been done for nearly 20 years. Over the past 20 years, nearly a thousand love ambassadors (employees) have participated in activities to respect and support the elderly.

It is time to ride the wind and waves. In the final year of the fight against poverty, Helenbergh will spare no effort to devote itself to targeted poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and assist in the final victory of the fight against poverty. Care and love contributes to a better society.
