Helenbergh Won “Outstanding Social Responsibility Enterprise of 2021” by Showing Commitment

On November 11, the “2021 Annual Thinking Finance Investor Conference and Golden Bridge Award Ceremony”, organized by Thinking Finance and Investor China, was held in Shanghai. The annual investor conference has been held for thirteen consecutive years so far, and has always won unanimous recognition inside and outside the industry for its authoritative, professional, forward-looking and innovative concept. The conference not only provides a multi-dimensional and comprehensive outlook on the future direction of economic development, but also presents awards to outstanding enterprises emerging in 2021. Contribute to rural revitalization

This year is not only the opening year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, but also the starting year of the comprehensive implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. After the comprehensive victory in the battle against poverty, how to promote common prosperity in high-quality development has become an important issue of widespread concern in the whole society.

Helenbergh deeply summarizes the experience of industrial assistance, develops rural special industries according to local conditions with the mode of whole industrial chain assistance, helps rural revitalization, and makes every effort to build a model sample of rural revitalization in the new era.

In Liannan, Guangdong, in January this year, Helenbergh signed a paired support framework agreement with Liannan County, Guangdong to contribute to rural revitalization of Liannan through tea industry assistance, consumption-based assistance and education assistance.

In view of the current situation of the development of the tea industry in Liannan, Helenbergh applies its successful experience to help the whole industry chain by integrating production, processing and sales, fully guiding the tea industry in Liannan to embark on the road of large-scale, scientific and sustainable development, and driving the sustainable development of the rural collective industry.

On October 21, the provincial-level modern agricultural industrial park of tea, medicine and fungus, which is jointly cooperated by Helenbergh, Liannan Bapai Yaoshan Company, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences Tea Research Institute and South China Agricultural University, has officially started construction in Liannan. The tea garden had an investment of up to 22.2 million yuan, covering an area of 2,000 mu. Three years after the completion, it is expected to produce 1.2 million jin(i.e. 1/2 kilogram) of fresh tea leaves with the annual output value of up to 12 million yuan. The demonstration tea garden will be the key in the construction of “ecological” and “healthy” tea industry to promote the digital construction of the whole industry chain and industrial upgrading, create a new model of modern tea industry development, to further promote the prosperity of the tea industry in Liannan.

In Jinggangshan, Helenbergh signed a paired support agreement with Jiangxi Jinggangshan in 2018, creating a “company + research institute + cooperative + farmers” industrial poverty alleviation model to help achieve sustainable development of the local honey industry with the whole industry chain, and to drive the development of the industry and local people to get rich. In recent years, with the help of Helenbergh, Jiangxi Beekeeping Research Institute, Ganzhongnan Comprehensive Experimental Extension Station and local government, Jinggangshan beekeeping industry has achieved leapfrog development: beekeeping population reached 1200 people with beekeeping scale of more than 8000 boxes. There were 16 poor villages that took beekeeping industry as the leading industry. More than 60 poor households, more than 140 people in poverty received assistance. In 2020, Jinggangshan beekeeping output value reached 9 million yuan with employment of more than 100 farmers.

It is worth mentioning that in the 2021 “Guangdong Poverty Relief Day”, after donating 30 million yuan last year, Helenbergh donated 20 million yuan this year to contribute to the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization in Guangdong Province with practical actions. With the outstanding contribution to the cause of poverty alleviation and relief in Guangdong in 2020, Helenbergh was awarded the “Hongmian Cup and Golden Cup Award of Guangdong Poverty Alleviation and Relief”.

Persist in Practicing Social Responsibility

Fruitful Results in Public Welfare

With the tenet of “promote education, help the poor, help the elderly and disabled, and provide disaster relief”, in the past 23 years since its establishment, Helenbergh has carried out four charity projects nationwide, namely, Helenbergh Education(education and schooling), Helenbergh Shelter (rural revitalization), Helenbergh Action (care for the elderly) and Helenbergh Kindness(major natural disaster relief) with a total donation of more than 200 million yuan for various social welfare causes.

“Helenbergh Education” focuses on education support. Over the years, Helenbergh has been helping poor students in all aspects through multiple initiatives, sponsoring thousands of poor students to realize their dreams of going to school, building Helenbergh Love Bookstore, helping poor students change their destiny through education, with the undergraduate rate of sponsored students reaching 74%. By the end of 2020, Helenbergh has sponsored more than 200 schools and a total of more than 4,000 students with outstanding academic performance. At present, it sponsors more than 3,000 students at the same time, with an annual funding of 20 million yuan.

In the practical action to help revitalize the villages, education promotion has also been one of the elements of Helenbergh’s assistance. In Jinggangshan, Helenbergh has sponsored more than 100 students from difficult families from elementary school to college graduation, and set up scholarships for outstanding teachers to encourage and help rural teachers. In Liannan County, Helenbergh has sponsored more than 100 students from difficult families with an annual funding of 600,000 yuan. At the same time, Helenbergh has donated music equipment worth 35,000 yuan  for the music room of Liannan National Senior High School, and a batch of air energy water heater equipment worth 25,000 yuan for Xiangping Town Central School in Liannan County, which solved the problem of no hot water for bathing for teachers and students in the school.

“Helenbergh Action” focuses on elderly care. For more than 20 years, Helenbergh Charity Foundation has been organizing ambassadors (employees) to visit the elderly in orphanages regularly, helping them solve their difficulties and accompanying them in twilight years through weekend companionship and holiday care, so that they can feel the love and warmth and care from the society. By 2020, thousands of ambassadors (employees) have participated in the activities of elderly care.

In addition, Helenbergh has also launched the “Helenbergh Kindness” project nationwide. In the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami, the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, the 2010 Qinghai Yushu earthquake, the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and other major disasters and epidemics, Helenbergh took practical action to help compatriots in disaster areas to overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes.
